Welcome to the Society of West-Coast Artists, a non-profit 501(c)3, fine arts SIGNATURE society located in Northern and Central California. Formerly known as the Society of Western Artists, the aim of SWA is to encourage and promote our artists and art education as well as to bring a closer relationship between the fine artist and the public.

WHAT WE DO.......................................In support of the arts, SWA offers:

  • Monthly/bi-monthly, judged art shows by SWA members in Representational and Non-Representational/Abstract art

  • Monthly artist lecture/painting demonstrations by local and nationally recognized artists  These demonstrations are FREE and open to anyone

  • Art education workshops by nationally recognized artists open to anyone who wants to further their art education and skills

SWA’s major show is our prestigious ANNUAL EXHIBITION OF ART featuring the best of the best in competition for established awards.  This show is held during the Spring or Summer.

Each artist accepted in the shows accumulate points toward their esteemed Signature Award.   Our membership of approximately 200 artists or patrons of the arts is dedicated to the pursuit of fine representational art and continuing education.
